The Sugar House

The Sugar House is a Civil War era historic landmark on the banks of the Morris Canal transformed into Jersey City's most luxurious condo loft building with 64 modern, condominium lofts, featuring gas fireplace, stainless steel kitchens with Viking Professional appliances and master suites with California walk-in Closets and imported Italian tumbled marble tile baths with whirlpool tubs & spa showers, and deeded parking.

The Sugar House was designed by German architect Detlef Leinau in 1863. It eventually became part of the American Sugar Refining Company. Lienau (1818-1887) was one of the 29 founding members of the American Institute of Architects and had an office at 111 Broadway in New York City. He was known for the building of homes on Fifth Avenue and for his wealthy clients like August Belmont and the Astors.
